Long time no Blog!!

Well since I last posted business has been quite quiet. Bike sales are not as good as summer but still a few going through and we sold a 906 Alpino this morning. See photo on the left. Winter set in and came with snow and ice and the last was yesterday. Now petrol prices reaching £1.30 a litre. Not good for the motorist but good for the electric bike market! It looks like it will be a hard 2011 for most people while the economy recovers especially with VAT rising to 20%. Luckily most electric bike prices have remained the same and hopefully that will be a good incentive for anyone considering giving up their car! With car insurance now apparently rising due to Facebook posts of when people are going on holiday it is certainly making it much more expensive for the average motorist. When you add up all the increasing costs of motoring these days it really is surprising so many people are prepared to pay these costs. A good electric bike is not cheap but once you have purchased one that is basically all you need to pay. Charging the battery costs pence and should last at least 5 years before needing a replacement. Compared to the massive costs that add up over 5 years on a car there really is actually no comparison at all. Add your costs up by clicking the link below:

Preparing for the SALE

Well Pedals Plus Power winter sale starts tomorrow. Hopefully it will be very busy for a while now.

Return of the cold weather & return of the car!

Well I have been riding bikes back and forth to work now for weeks even enjoying it while raining! However, now the cold has arrived and I am not quite so keen. What is needed is better clothing but until I get it I will be using the old ICE.

End of summer

Well the end of summer is well and truly here. When Gavin Williamson MP came to visit on Thursday 23rd September it was a lovely sunny day and I was still wearing shorts for work. It got quite cold on the way home that night on the new A2B and trousers were introduced the next day! Apart from a bit of sun yesterday morning we have had nothing to shout about since the that Thursday. Even when the sun does come out the temperatures acheived a few weeks ago are now no more. Bike ridng will now get less but it will still be done.

Waterproof jacket, trousers and winter boots come out along with wooley hat that covers the ears. So I set out this morning with thermals and waterproofs galore in the heavy rain. There is something about riding along in the rain when you are warm and dry, a bit like the feeling you have in a tent when its raining - that feeling of protection from the elements. I quite like this I thought to myself. I arrived here at work with wet sleeves for some reason even though I wore gloves over the end of my sleeves but apart from that I was completely dry. Bye bye fair weather cycling only - this is now something i will be doing all year round!

Our local MP Gavin Williamson trys out our new yellow A2B Metro:

The local MP for South Staffordshire Gavin Williamson tried out our new yellow A2B Metro on Thursday 23rd September during a visit to the vineyards.

Second Metro arrives in yellow

Finally we have a second A2B Metro in yellow with an internal battery. The internal battery makes the bike lighter than the external version due to lack of protective casing. It also feels more balanced than one with just the external fitted.

Wisper 905e

Wispers 905eco is here in store for the first time. A very decent bike for the cost. After riding for a few days now it is quite impressive - not so comfortable as the sport or city and due to the fixed handlebars the bike has a more rigid position to its cousins. One advantage is it’s weight. Not as heavy as it’s cousins due to the lack of suspension forks etc. Not a bad bike indeed!!
